Discovery Studio (DS) Visualizer (from BIOVIA) is a visualization tool for viewing, sharing, and analyzing proteins [1]. Here are some uses and applications of DS Visualizer.
It can allow us to:
- visualize proteins and small molecules.
- analyze Vina docking results. (For details on how to do it, read this article).
- modify structures by building and editing nucleic acids and proteins.
- superimpose proteins.
- Search side-chain rotamers.
- short simulations for structures as well as for small molecules.
- analyze protein-ligand interactions.
- create pharmacophores.
- sketch and browse small molecules.
- build fragments in small molecules.
- align small molecules.
- edit X-ray protein structures.
- store users’ tools under the ‘My Tools’ tab.
- easy selection, labeling of residues, and colors.
- create 2D interaction plots, heat maps, 3D point plots, and so on.
- run several scripts for structure editing, visualization, and many more.
- export image in various formats.
These are a few uses of DS Visualizer. You can find more when you explore it.
